A self-made music producer who's in his mid twenties that's about to break new grounds in the South African music industry with his iVibe genre, his single titled 'Touch My Body' drops on the 1st of May 2020 to all Digital Platforms.
Born in Welkom, the second-largest city in the Free State, he then moved to Kutluanong where he spent most of his childhood surrounded by a music loving family. This is where his passion for music was harnessed as he would listen to the classics by Zondi Ballards. It was only in his teens when Snaker Da Ray (real name Goodyear Seneuwe "Neo" Matla) put his passion for music to action. He used to familiarise himself with music skills on the computer his parents bought him and that's when he knew this is exactly what he wanted to do, not only to be a music producer and an audio engineer but a DJ and vocalist.
Snaker Da Ray had influencers whom he drew aspiration from, people who were already doing great in the music scene. When Snaker started producing his own sound, he was still under age to play in night clubs. For this reason, he decided to give other DJ's his music so that they could play it for the masses on the floor and his music was received really well.
After turning 18, it was now that Snaker Da Ray was able to spread his wings and reach for the skies. He started playing sets on campus (Central University of Technology) in Bloemfontein where he was enrolled to study on becoming an Educator. This time he was legal enough to start playing g at the night clubs around campus. This gave him more exposure and he used this opportunity to the best of his advantage by venturing into collaborations with well established people in the industry and to take up post production projects with the likes of Chad Da Don.
In breaking new grounds and bringing a new fresh sound to the music scene in the country, Snaker Da Ray is tapping into the untapped, he's genre of music is a mixture of Amapiano, Nu-Jazz/Broken beat, as well as Soulfoul-house.Now that's stepping up the game. Snaker Da Ray wishes to collaborate with the likes of MFR Souls, Kabza Da Small, DJ Maphorisa and also Black Coffee. Judging by the taste and sound this young man has, we can bet he is well on his way to collaborating with the giants in the near future.
