10 Over 10 With Cebo

We had a chat with Cebo and asked him our top 10 questions amidst his 2nd single release #Tatazela dropping on Friday the 24th of July 2020

1. What first got you into music?

When I first moved to Joburg back in the late 90's, I started out as a dancer. I love dancing so much ,that's how I was introduced into the music scene, I used to dance for DJ Clock amongst other famous Dj's. Before I knew it, I was already starting to record my DEMO's in studio.

2. What is your creative process like?

It all depends. There are times when I listen to a beat while I'm in studio then I start writing down my lyrics ,there are times when I am home chilling ,I would grab my pen and notebook and start scribbling fresh lines that come to mind then I would go into studio and jump on the beast and start recording.

3. What message would you give to your fans?

Never give up, yes it may seem like things won't happen your way but continue to push until something happens. Stay positive, your thoughts are a very powerful tool so it is very important to stay optimistic and not to take or listen to negativity . Trace your dreams, know what it is you want and how you want to get there. Spend everyday trying to reach your goals, one day you will get there.

4. What influenced the name of your new single?

I received a beat from DJ Clock and I listened to it, as I was listening to the beat , I knew exactly who I wanted to feature on this track. Fast forward to when we were chilling in studio and singing along to the beat and suddenly we all started dancing in the same fashion, I noticed how we were all moving the same and then that's when it hit me that we should make the song be about Tatazela , a motion of moving like you are trembling .

5. When is it dropping?

The single will be dropping on Friday the 24th of July ,and it will be available on all digital platforms for streaming and download.

6. Who did you work with on the song?

I worked with @DJClock, @KayGeeDaKing and @Bizizi_Official

7. How was it working with them?

Too much fun. I had a great time working with Kaygee and Bizizi in studio. We were dancing while working. What made it great to work with them is that they are very professional and take their work seriously. They have a lot of respect and keep time. Working with DJ Clock was amazing considering this wasn't our first time working together , we go way back.

8. What can we expect from the music video?

This is my very first music video as a solo artist, and I'm very excited. You can expect ipansula eli clean (A clean pansula guy) in a very vibe township and some great new dance moves inspired by Tatazela. I would also like to thank my friends who came to support me as it is lockdown and we are in the pandemic but they came through for me ,and also to Charlie Communications for making this music video possible.

9. If you could perform anywhere in the world, where would it be?

The United Kingdom (UK) , I once went there and would really love to go back.

10. Why?

I loved the people there, their ascent which I find very interesting and the fact that they love South African music. I was very surprised to learn that they play a lot of South African music in their clubs.
